...VISIONARIES continued.
Loud rock and reggae grooves to keep
the kids moshing and ladies dancing. That’s the whole idea behind
the band’s sound. Catchy melodies, an irresistible hook, and tight
chemistry on stage is what makes Ballyhoo! such a great band. Now in
2005, the songs have gotten more catchy, more hooky and a little
deeper in content. They’re from the heart now more than ever.
You’ll hear songs about partying with
your best friends to escaping unhealthy relationships to the tragic
death of a loved one. Ballyhoo! covers it all, but with a style and
sound all their own. The basslines of newest member, “Mista J”, keep
the rhythm flowing and the grooves…well…groovy! Ballyhoo! has been
generating an ever-growing fan base through the website and the use
of message boards all over the internet. People GET IT! It’s going
to keep building day by day until eventually, everyone in the world
will own or have heard a Ballyhoo! CD, so you might as well get on
board now. You WILL be a fan of this music!

If Sublime, 311, & Green Day came
together to form a giant robot to destroy all of the shitty music in
the world, it would be called "BALLYHOO!". All the bad music would
crumble by the hand of the melodic, funky Reggae/Rock grooves &
menacing percussion. Buildings would collapse by the quake-like bass
lines. Women everywhere would fall to their knees in an orgasmic
haze from the powerful, but sweet vocal melodies....Yeah, something
like that....
Their first full-length album, "365-Day Weekend", released in
October 2000 on Hooligan! Records, has sold thousands of copies,
receiving rave reviews from fans and critics alike.
In Summer of 2004, the band released the "Green EP," which featured
their first single, "Longshot." Recorded mostly for promotional
purposes, it ended up being eaten up by crowds at shows and over the
internet.

"Longshot" was chosen for a
compilation CD by 98 ROCK Baltimore entitled "Noise in the
Basement". There were about 20,000 copies pressed and distributed
throughout the Baltimore/Washington area. The song also held strong
in the top 5 in the Rock category at Garageband.com for over a year.
In 2001, Ballyhoo! opened the HFStival, an annual stadium event with
60,000 people in attnedance in Washington D.C. Also on the bill that
year were national acts such as Green Day, Staind, Incubus, and Sum
41. HFS was cool enough to let them do the show 2 more times after
that!
